About Me

My name is Karen Tootle.  I was born and raised in Vancleave, Mississippi and now teach at Vancleave High School, from which I graduated.  After graduating high school in 1996, I received my Undergraduate degree in Secondary Education Mathematics from the University of South Alabama.  I am currently in my fifteenth year of teaching.  I teach a variety of classes, including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra III, and AP Calculus.  I am also in charge of my school's prom and am the yearbook sponsor. I completed my National Board Certification in 2008 and am now working to obtain my Master's degree in Secondary Education.  I took three classes towards my Master's in 2001 but I waited too long and now have to retake them.  This is my second trimester at Carey.  I am both nervous and excited about this new endeavor.

I have two beautiful children, Connor who is 9 and Caroline who is 6. They are by far my greatest accomplishment.  I am very blessed to have a loving, supportive family that is very close.  I live five minutes from my parents and about twenty minutes from my only sister.  I also have an awesome group of ladies that I am lucky enough to call friends that are there for me throughout life's ups and downs.  I am thankful to God for all of the wonderful people he has placed in my life.
